Cononmark have announced the 50Tmini, a compact 500Ws, TTL and HSS enabled, Lithium-ion battery powered cordless strobe.
The 50Tmini providing auto sensing 2.4GHz radio slave modes for Canon, Nikon, Sony, and now Fuji and Pentax systems, all in the one strobe.
The 50Tmini are Cononmark’s second fully cordless strobe model after the TTL and HSS enabled, 600Ws, i6T EX Leopard.
With the main functional upgrade to the IGBT enabled 50Tmini being the option to select between an Action Mode, for motion freezing short flash durations, or a Constant Color mode, stated as 5500K +/-100K across the power range.
The 50Tmini’s 14.8 Volt 4000mAh Li-ion Battery provides around 400 full power flashes, and full power recycle time is approx 1.8 seconds for the 50T Mini.
With Manual flash output from 1/128 to 1/1 in 1/3rd Increments.
The strobe with its metal body and swivel mount weights in at just under 2Kgs with battery installed.
The 50Tmni uses the compact Commet style modifier mount, though a low profile Bowen’s S-type adapter is also available.
In comparison the 500Ws 50Tmini appears to be a little more compact than the 600Ws i6T EX Leopard. Though with the more square body shape, possibly overall somewhat similar in volume and weight.
Both strobes being very compact in comparison to most other cordless strobes with similar output currently available.
The 50Tmini now provides the option of selecting between an Action Mode, for motion freezing short flash durations, or a Constant Color mode, stated as 5500K +/-100K across the full power range.
Like most of Connonmark’s strobe models the 50Tmini continues to use the compact Commet style modifier mount. And a separate low profile Bowen’s S-type adapter is also available.
This configuration provides the advantage of allowing light weight Commet style modifiers to be mounted to the strobe when hand holding etc, though it does still recess the flash tube to some degree when using the S-Type mount adapter.
The low profile Cononmark ABC transmitter is currently the option for firing and controlling the 50T mini and other TTL enabled Cononmark strobes.
Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Pentax, and Sony (in both Minolta and Multi Interface shoe) versions of the transmitter are available.
As the name suggests, the 2.4GHz ABC transmitter provides fast adjustment of 3 separate flash groups A / B / C.
TTL, HSS, and Second Curtain Sync are all supported, along with remote manual power control in +/- 0.3 stop increments, and modelling light power control.
TTL and Manual Groups can be mixed together at the same time, and individual groups can easily be turned On and Off as needed.
